dc.description.abstract Cloud computing has been a maiden name in the Information Communication Technology industry from the better part of the 21st century. A good number of industrial and organizational players have been struggling to have their share in muscling the contribution of the cloud computing in offsite data storage. One of the notable players in cloud computing are the libraries and information centers. This paper, therefore presents the rationale of cloud computing in the management of libraryservices in Kenya. By focusing on the libraries as data centers,cloud computing application can accelerate resource utilization for better information service provision. In order to understand how the cloud computing can be used in the library environment, it is necessary to first become familiar with the cloud’s features and its prospects. The likely challenges cloud computing poses to the traditional routines and the users in the libraries and information centers. en_US
